We’ve all been seeing a record number of U.S. Companies on sale or as acquisition targets for foreign companies such as the recent offer from Belgian-Brazilian giant InBev for Anheuser-Busch.
This phenomenon is in part due to globalization and also in part due to the weak U.S. dollar.
I think eventually, the sale of US companies will lead to a stronger dollar as these purchases will lead to a demand for US Dollars to make payments with.
On a recent trip to Spain, I got to watch the Eurovision awards on TV. Overall the show is much more entertaining and original as compared to equivalent shows in the US like American Idol.
Rodolfo Chikilicuatre from Spain is particularly entertaining with a hilarious performance and a catchy reggaetón beat. Unfortunately he did not win.
An observation one can make today is that a growing number of DJs now seem to use tracks from the early 90s especially the ones that were associated with classic dance and trance sounds and from groups who built a reputation for exceptional dance tracks. Some of this stuff still sounds really good - with a few slight modificatons to soften up the edges.
