Flyrig.com is a new service that delivers a community driven approach to the process of finding rental apartments in New York city. By utilizing Google Maps for visually representing properties, the service make the process of finding suitable apartments visually appealing. Though the service is new, I was able to find plenty of interesting apartments for rent all over Manhattan in just a few seconds. Adding more properties to their database is just a matter of time. The other component of the website is the ability to rate brokers. This should help whittling down all those ‘Bait and Switch’ artists that abound by allowing users to rate service providers.

I’d heard many recommendations that the “God of War” series of games on the Playstation were among the best titles every released for the game console. On ebay, I found that you could pick up the console, plus 3 top rated game titles for under $100.

GameStop and EBGames are already selling used titles. Circuit City is getting started. Many online stores are deep into the practice. Therefore, if you’re feeling like playing a few games, look back - it’s cheaper and environment friendlier.

A curious mechanical gadget found in an ancient Roman shipwreck that sank off the island of Antikythera near the Greek coast around 65 B.C., provides evidence that in the second century B.C. someone had been able to create a highly complex computing mechanism that was hundreds of years ahead of the technical abilities of its time. According to scientists who examined this mechanism, it was supposed to be a mechanical representation of the irregularities of the Moon’s orbit over the sky. This device utilizes a complex system of gears to achieve its objective of representing the moon’s orbit.
Now, one can only think that if mankind had been able to benefit from the workings of this invention, how much ahead would the world have been today? A mechanism of similar complexity was not seen again for another 1000 years. This illustrates why the the advancement of human civilization lies in the ability to share technology.
